This scholarship is given in memory of Kyle Rieger, the former Director of Bands for the Seaside school district. Funds for the award were raised by the friends and family of Kyle Rieger following the tragic loss of his life May 2022. Kyle was a dedicated musician, composer, and music educator. Kyle wholeheartedly believed in the power of music as a vehicle for fostering community. He emphasized that “as long as you’re enjoying what you are doing and can pass it on to other people, you are doing more good in this world that you can possibly know.”
